The registration of a personal mobility vehicle (PMV) can be processed by the vehicle owner or any authorized person on their behalf. In the case of minors , if the registration is done online, it must be carried out by their legal guardian .

To carry out the authorization, You can appoint a representative through our  Register of Powers of Attorney , by selecting the procedure "Ordinary vehicle registration", which is within the "Vehicles" category .

If necessary, if a representative on your behalf has to carry out the procedure in person, they must request an appointment, indicating both the ID of the interested party and that of the authorized person and delivering a DGT authorization form “Granting of representation” signed by the interested party, where they authorize them to make the request, and express its free nature.

Si el VMP se quiere inscribir a nombre de un menor de edad.

La inscripción de un VMP a nombre de un menor deberá hacerla su tutor legal en su nombre si se realiza a través de internet.

If you are going to register  online :

Certified VMP models

• Digital certificate, electronic ID card or Cl@ve credentials to access the service.
• Vehicle technical data sheet showing the VMP certificate number,  photograph of the VMP license plate showing the vehicle serial number    Aid, .
• Pay ${fee4.1} . You can pay it at the same service. If you have paid it previously, you can enter the fee number, which is found on the last page of the purchase receipt.    Aid.

Non-certified VMP models

• Digital certificate, electronic ID card or Cl@ve credentials to access the service.
• Vehicle  technical specifications , photograph of the VMP license plate showing the vehicle serial number    Aid,or a photograph of the vehicle to be registered.
• Pay ${fee4.1} . You can pay it at the same service. If you have paid it previously, you can enter the fee number, which is found on the last page of the purchase receipt.    Aid.

If necessary, the procedure can be carried out in person with the following documentation:

• Application completed on official form .
• NIE/NIF of the vehicle owner, representative and/or guardian.
• Vehicle technical data sheet showing the VMP certificate number.
• Photograph of the VMP license plate showing the vehicle serial number    Aid, or a photograph of the vehicle to be registered for non-certified models. 
• Proof of payment with the details of the previously purchased fee . You can also pay the fee by card at our offices when you complete the procedure; cash is not accepted.

Online , through our app. You must have a valid Digital ID or electronic certificate , or your Cl@ve credentials to access the app. Once there:

• In the first step, "Contact Information," you must confirm whether you are completing the process on your own behalf or on behalf of someone else. If you wish to register a personal mobility vehicle (PMV) in the name of a minor, you must provide the minor's tax identification number (NIF) and year of birth and declare that you are their legal guardian. You must also provide your email address and phone number so we can send you confirmation of the registration. Finally, in the "Address for Notifications" section, select the address where the vehicle is usually located.
• In the second step, "Vehicle Details", you will need to fill in:
  • VMP certificate number. If you don't have the number, but you know the make and model, you can check it in the list of certified VMPs .
  • Vehicle serial number, which you can find in your VMP documentation.
  • Select the type of use for the VMP from the dropdown menu: Private or Public. If it will also be for sharing, we will ask you to provide your  IAE (Economic Activities Tax) number for the current year to justify the activity and  to fill in the address where the VMP will be located.
  • Attach the vehicle's technical specifications or, failing that, a photo of the license plate showing the serial number.
  • If your VMP is not certified , check the box "My vehicle is not certified". You will not have to fill in the certificate number or the serial number, simply select the use and attach the technical data sheet or, failing that, a photo of the plate showing the serial number or a photo of the vehicle to be registered.
• In the third step, you will need to pay the fee ${fee4.1} by card or bank transfer, or use a fee you have previously purchased. If the registration process cannot be completed due to an error, you can restart the process and reuse the fee you have already paid.
• To complete the process, don't forget to click the box accepting the data protection law and the accuracy of the information.

Once the registration is successfully completed, you will be able to download the VMP registration certificate, which will always be a digital document in pdf format, showing the vehicle in your name, the technical data of the VMP and the unique identification number in the format M XXXX LLL.

In addition, we will send you all the information regarding registration and payment of fees to the email address you indicated in the "Contact Information" section.

We remind you that in the miDGT section you can check the Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) registered in your name and download their registration certificates . With this registration certificate, you can also apply for mandatory insurance. The insurance will be registered electronically by the Insurance Compensation Consortium in the National Vehicle Registry on the day of purchase.

To obtain  your identification label    Aid, Just like vehicle registration plates, you can request this at a license plate manufacturer by presenting your registration certificate. The identification sticker must be placed in the designated space or holder on the personal mobility vehicle (PMV).

When the situation requires it, you may be able to complete the process in person by submitting all original and valid documentation at any Traffic Headquarters or local Traffic Office . In this case, you need to schedule an appointment online or by calling 060. Please remember that in-person service at our offices is reserved for individuals and their representatives. Companies and other legal entities, as well as their representatives, must complete their procedures electronically.

Para poder inscribir un VMP a tu nombre, tiene que contar con un certificado de circulación emitido por un laboratorio autorizado por DGT. En nuestra página web puedes consultar los modelos certificados.

No obstante, de manera excepcional, será posible inscribir de manera temporal un VMP que no esté certificado. En este caso el certificado será válido para circular únicamente hasta el 22 de enero de 2027. Para ello, necesitarás:

• Ficha técnica del vehículo.
• Fotografía de la placa del VMP en la que aparezca el número de serie del vehículo    Ayuda, o una fotografía del vehículo a inscribir.

La inscripción de un VMP conlleva el pago de la tasa 4.1 de 8,67 €

Tienes varios medios para pagar tu tasa:

• Si vas a hacer el trámite por internet, deberás pagar la tasa previamente a través de cualquiera de los canales disponibles. A la hora de realizar el trámite, te pediremos el número de la tasa que has pagado. Es un número de 12 cifras que está en la última página del justificante de pago. Ayuda
• En caso de hacerlo presencialmente, podrás pagar la tasa en nuestras oficinas en el momento de realizarlo, usando cualquier tarjeta de débito o crédito, nunca en metálico, o aplicar una tasa pagada previamente en alguno de los canales habilitados para ello.

¿Puedo inscribir cualquier VMP?

Solamente se puede inscribir modelos de VMPs que estén certificados por un laboratorio autorizado. En nuestra página web puedes consultar los modelos certificados. No obstante, de manera excepcional, será posible inscribir de manera temporal un VMP que no esté certificado. En este caso el certificado será válido para circular únicamente hasta el 22 de enero de 2027.

¿Dónde consigo mi etiqueta identificativa de inscripción?

Una vez hayas realizado la inscripción, deberás dirigirte a un centro autorizado de expedición de placas de matrícula con el certificado de inscripción que te hemos facilitado a la hora de realizar el trámite.

Además, por temas de seguridad, te solicitarán el DNI, nombre, apellidos y dirección.

Estoy realizando la inscripción por internet con la tasa ya pagada, pero no he podido finalizar el trámite por un error. ¿Tengo que volver a pagar la tasa?

No, si por un error no has podido terminar la inscripción pero ya tenías pagada la tasa, inicia el proceso de inscripción y en el apartado "Pago de tasa", selecciona "Ya tengo una tasa que quiero usar" para reutilizar la tasa que ya habías pagado.

Mi hijo es menor de 18 años pero tiene un VMP. ¿Se puede realizar la inscripción del vehículo a su nombre?

Sí, los menores de edad pueden realizar la inscripción de un VMP. Para ello, si lo hacen a través de internet, deberá ser su tutor legal quien realice el trámite en su nombre.
